2012 SWPLL Registration

Registration for the 2012 season is now open.  For players wishing to play Majors or AAA, registration closes at midnight on Saturday, March 3. After that date passes, you must contact the Player Agent, Josh Stegman, to find a spot in this season. But please note that late adds for Majors-level and AAA-level teams are not guaranteed.  AA and A players should register by March 16 to maximize the likelihood they will be placed on the team of their choice.

To see what division your child should be registering for, see BASEBALL or SOFTBALL determining age and level of play guidelines. Please also use THIS CHART to determine your child’s “league age.” (Note: This may not be the age of your child right now)

Returning Players
All players wishing to play Majors or AAA must attend a tryout, even those who played AAA or Majors last year. The reason for this is that we reserve the right to hold a redraft at these divisions if the amount of new players forces us to expand or contract teams. All returning players will have the option to tryout at a separate time than those who are new to the division.

During registration you will be asked if you want to rejoin the same AAA or Majors team you played for last year. Choose “rejoin team.” (Note: All players league age 12 must play on majors. Thus, 12-year-olds cannot rejoin their AAA team. However, if you feel that your son or daughter is ill-prepared for majors, we can file a waiver to keep them in AAA. Please contact our Player Agent, Josh Stegman, for more information).

New Majors & AAA Players

If you are new to the league and wish to try out for a Majors or AAA team, you MUST ATTEND A TRYOUT.

Tryouts will be offered on the following dates:

Sunday, February 26
Sunday, March 4
(Full Schedule Here)

What is a try out?
On a predefined date each player that is required to try out will be assigned a unique number and asked complete a series baseball and softball drills. The player will be rated by each team’s manager and coach and SWPLL’s player agent, as well as an unbiased third party. A player draft will be held with the managers and coaches and SWPLL’s player agent in attendance. The skill evaluation/tryout serves as an aide to the managers/coaches of the draft selection process. The divisions are not age-bound; rather, teams are selected based on players’ talent level according to each team’s manager/coach.

For even more information on tryouts, please visit our SWPLL Tryout Page.
