Pete Reynolds Memorial Field

Pete Reynolds Memorial Field

In honor of the late Pete Reynolds, longtime supporter of Southwest Portland Little League, we are looking to create the Pete Reynolds Memorial Field. Pete recently passed away; his grandchildren are currently playing baseball and softball in the league, while his daughter, Tiffany Krake, is the Vice President of Softball.

From his Obituary: Pete combined his love of family and enthusiasm for sports by coaching his children's baseball and softball teams for over 10 years. He was a major sponsor for Southwest Portland Little League as well as many other Northwest charities ... Anyone who knew him can say that they were better for having him in their life. He was a devoted husband, proud father and grandfather and a fiercely loyal friend. Blessings on Pete, who so richly blessed us all. (Read more at OregonLive).

In lieu of flowers, kindly send contributions to Southwest Portland Little League to create the Pete Reynolds Memorial Field at Markham Elementary School.

Interested in Being a Spring 2012 Manager or Coach?

The league has been collecting lists of manager/coach candidates for next Spring's baseball season. Although our initial deadline has passed, we have not yet finalized manager positions for all of our divisions.  If you are interested in returning as a manager or coach, would like to manage or coach in a different division, or are interested in managing or coaching for the first time in our league, please contact our coaching coordinator, Ivan Kidoguchi (itk@uw.edu) as soon as possible. Please DO NOT assume that if you managed or coached last year, you will automatically end up on the list for this year, since divisions expand and contract from year to year.

Visit our coaches page for more details.

Approved Little League Equipment

Before purchasing any new equipment for the upcoming Little League season, make sure that what you're buying is approved. Here is the link for Little League International's list of approved equipment.

You don't want to get stuck paying a boatload for something that your son and daughter won't be able to use duing games. Umpires know what is legal and what isn't.

Would you play baseball next summer if SWPLL offered a summer program?
