The bat rules are changing effective January 1, 2018 for Little League baseball and all other youth leagues across the country. Starting this spring players will need a USA Baseball regulation bat for all league games.
NO BATS FROM LAST YEAR WILL BE LEGAL IN 2018 FOR THE AAA AND MAJORS LEVELS
For AAA and Majors, all bats must meet the new bat standards and must have the new USA Baseball logo/sticker. (Note: tee ball, A and AA can continue to use old bats) There are several options out there, including 2 1/4″ and 2 5/8″ barrels, -11, -10, -8, -5 drops, aluminum, composite, etc. ANY of the official USA Baseball bats will be allowed in SWPLL. (example of logo on left) This will be a matter of preference for your individual player. If you have additional questions there is detailed info here http://www.littleleague.org/learn/equipment/baseballbatinfo/USA-Baseball-Bat-Standard-FAQs.htm List of approved bats here: http://www.littleleague.org/learn/equipment/baseballbatinfo/mobile-batlist.htm
The league will ensure each team has at least one approved bat.
Congratulations to the 8/10 Honors 2 team, who took 1st place in their tournament bracket!
